RESTORE MOBILITY.
LIVE BEYOND PAIN.

Medically Reviewed by Dr. Rajan Sharma, Chief Medical Officer

Classical Ayurveda approaches chronic joint, spinal, and muscular conditions by addressing *Vata Dosha* vitiation and *Asthi-Majja Dhatu* nourishment. Through localized *Kati Basti*, *Janu Basti*, and classical *Swedana*, our hospital protocols promote natural disc hydration, joint lubrication, and enduring physical ease.

Joint & Spinal Comfort Natural Ease Promoting deep muscular relaxation, soothing nerve irritation, and relieving radiating discomfort through warm medicated oils.
Disc & Cartilage Health Asthi-Majja Poshan Nourishing intervertebral discs and replenishing depleted Shleshaka Kapha (synovial fluid) to restore smooth, friction-free joint movement.
Functional Mobility Range of Motion Releasing chronic muscle spasms, improving joint flexibility, and supporting confident, pain-free everyday movement.
Holistic Joint Preservation Vaidya Supervised Time-tested classical therapies designed to preserve natural skeletal alignment and support long-term musculoskeletal longevity.
Ayurvedic Clinical Insight

UNDERSTANDING ASTHI & MAJJA DHATU.

Classical Pathology • Sandhivata & Asthi Kshaya

Vata Aggravation & Loss of Shleshaka Kapha

In Ayurvedic physiology, bones and spinal discs are governed by Asthi and Majja Dhatus, lubricated by Shleshaka Kapha, and mobilized by Vata Dosha. With repetitive strain, age, or lifestyle imbalance, Vata becomes dry and aggravated, depleting the natural unctuous cushion (Sneha) of joints and discs. This leads to Sandhivata (joint stiffness and crepitus) and nerve compression along spinal channels.

Therapeutic Strategy • Sandhivata vs. Amavata

Precision Dhatu Nourishment & Tailored Swedana

Classical Ayurvedic texts make a crucial diagnostic distinction: Sandhivata (degenerative joint and disc dryness) requires deep unctuous nourishment through Snehana, Kati Basti, and Patra Pinda Sweda. Conversely, Amavata (inflammatory joint conditions driven by metabolic Ama) requires dry fomentation (Valuka Sweda), Langhana, and Agni-clearing herbs before oils can be applied. By tailoring treatment to the exact clinical presentation, lasting comfort is restored.

The Atreya Treatment System

OUR 4-PILLAR CLINICAL PROTOCOL.

01 / Localized Spinal & Joint Basti

Kati, Greeva & Janu Basti Procedures

Retaining warm, medicated classical herbal oils (Mahanarayana, Ksheerabala, Murivenna) within custom herbal dough reservoirs placed over the lumbosacral spine (Kati Basti for disc bulges/sciatica), cervical spine (Greeva Basti), or knee joints (Janu Basti). The continuous hydrostatic heat penetrates deep into spinal ligaments, rehydrating degenerated disc cushions and relieving nerve entrapment.

02 / Specialized Herbal Fomentation

Patra Pinda & Dry Valuka Sweda

Fresh medicinal leaf bolus therapy (Patra Pinda Sweda / Elakizhi) fried in anti-inflammatory oils for degenerative muscle spasm and sciatica. For inflammatory rheumatoid arthritis (Amavata), we administer dry sand-bolus therapy (Valuka Sweda) to resolve acute joint edema and dissolve localized Ama without irritating synovial tissues.

03 / Classical Bone & Cartilage Herbs

Asthi-Majja Dhatu Reconstructive Pharmacopoeia

Internal administration of classical polyherbal formulations: Shallaki (standardized Boswellia serrata), Yogaraja and Kaishore Guggulu, Trayodashanga Guggulu, Hadjod (Cissus quadrangularis for bone tensile strength), and Maharasnadi Kwath to halt cartilage degeneration and soothe chronic neuro-inflammation.

04 / Alignment & Marma Therapy

Marma Neuromuscular Release & Stability Yoga

Doctor-administered vital Marma point stimulation to unblock trapped neuromuscular energy pathways, coupled with non-impact spinal traction, posture re-education, and restorative asanas to strengthen core paraspinous musculature and stabilize spinal biomechanics long-term.

Common Questions

CLINICAL QUESTIONS ANSWERED.

Intervertebral spinal discs have limited direct blood supply in adults. Kati Basti creates a reservoir of warm, classical medicated herbal oil (such as Mahanarayana and Ksheerabala) directly over the lumbosacral region for 30–45 minutes. The sustained hydrostatic warmth and lipid-soluble botanicals permeate through deep paraspinous ligaments, nourishing the disc cushion, soothing muscular spasms, and releasing nerve entrapment naturally.
This distinction is central to Ayurvedic clinical success. Osteoarthritis (Sandhivata) is a Vata-dominated degenerative condition characterized by dryness and cartilage wear, treated with nourishing warm oils, Janu Basti, and Majja Rasayanas. Rheumatoid conditions (Amavata) involve toxic metabolic residues (Ama) causing heat and inflammation; these require light fasting, Agni-kindling herbs, and dry sand boluses (Valuka Sweda) to resolve Ama safely before oil therapies are introduced.
Yes, highly safe and gentle. All therapies are non-invasive and calibrated by our BAMS/MD Ayurvedic Doctors based on the patient's age, bone density, and biological stamina (Bala). Treatments are administered by trained therapists in dedicated treatment rooms under peaceful, supportive conditions.
For moderate disc bulges, sciatica, or joint stiffness, an intensive 7 to 14-day inpatient program allows for continuous daily Basti, synchronized Swedana, and physician monitoring, yielding deep tissue relief. More chronic cases may benefit from a 21-day structured protocol followed by a guided home maintenance routine.
